LET'S GO COWBOYS!!

Tonight hubby and I got to go to our grandsons football game. It was great!! Conner is 10 and he is the biggest on the team!! His mom said when they drove up to the ball field he was a little apprehensive about getting out of the car. The ball field is our local high school field. We have 3 high schools in our town. Mainly because the county is so spread out with people. At this field I got to watch 2 of my daughters walk for graduation and my now son in law 's graduation. Basically in 2007 was really the last time I was here. So I never thought I would get to see my grandson play county football! He is as tall as me, you will see below. They played a good game to 6 to 6. The coaches still gave them a chewing after the game. Either way I believe they won!! Conner is a sweet fellow and is quiet. He is a blocker on the team. They said he can't go after the ball, his job is to black and tackle other guys. He never tackles them. He is so timid. I hope he grows out of it some. He is young and this is a true learning experience. I am proud of him and home to see him in pro one day!
It was a great way to spend 1 1/2 hrs tonight.

Yard Work

When I mention yard work I was never thinking that it would be to bad right? WRONG! Well my husband said to our pastor once if you ever need help cutting the gras just let me know. I have a mower and a trailer. We can come and do what ever we can to help. Well our pastor asked us Sunday if we could help out.. I like the riding mower personally. Not to bad, high speeds, sun in my face, ear buds belting out great 80's music!! What could be better right. Well about 2 hrs later we finally got finished. And here is why. See below.

Well after we get home. Hubby said ya know I am on vacation this week. I should go ahead and get our yard done before I put the mower up. Well yeah you guessed right. I got to cut again.. He weeded the yard with the weed eater. Below is me on the mower in our front yard!!

 As I thought we were finishing up for the day. Nope right after lunch he went outside and I later followed after cleaning up lunch. And I caught the spouse cutting down our way over grown holly bushes. Well that task was on my honey do list. I had no idea it would be so soon. So below is a picture of my daughter in the yard and it was Mother's Day. So this will give ya a look at how big they were. Then the other two is today. Well, it is 10:15pm here in Georgia and I am about to sign out and take some tylenol and go to bed. Thanks for looking.

Banana Bread

Banana Bread. What do you think of when you hear those words? A sweet desert, actual bread, muffin, wonderful smell. Well, you mention banana bread in my home and i honestly believe you hear angels playing harps in the back ground and I know my hubby almost takes flight on wings on his feet. We had 3 bananas on the counter and he random mentions that all you need is some pecans and I can have banana bread.... Wow what a hint right? Well, this was around Thursday when he said this. I I actually made him wait a couple of more days cause we had left over strawberry cobbler in the fridge. I knew it would never get eaten if the bread was made. So after church I started gathering up the supplies for the bread. When low and behold he walks in the kitchen. Are you making my bread he asks? I signed and said yes I guess so cause if I didn't you would probably starve. So he reluctantly waited while the house filled with the awesome smell of baking bananas. The oven timer goes off and its like a race to the kitchen. He stares as I remove it from the oven, you know that glazed over look. After they are place on the cooling race, he asks. "Can we cut it now?" Still smoking some I put it on a plate and handed over the knife. I did get a small slice. He then told me that the little one was mine but the big one was his...

Found a Wabbit!!

This post is super short. My granddaughter came to stay the night Friday and all day Saturday. So yeah we were a little busy. We did pick a left over carrot for her. She said she loved it. To our surprise she did eat the whole thing. Probably because it was a fresh one!!

Biblical Lessons~ Write 31 Days

My entry for today is about something that my husband and I started doing together. He has done this for years. Although I have slacked terribly. We are having daily bible readings. We are following:

     We have been doing it for only a couple of days now. This book has a page for every day. Then on each page it has bible readings for us to read. We are taking turn reading verses together. The end result is after a year we will have read the whole bible. Also after each reading there is often questions for each other to ponder over and discuss. It is very interesting to me. And this is a small amount of time that we can share something with each other. And it is a new learning experience for both of us.
     We have made it a priority to start living a sinless life. It isn't an easy life for sure. But I am striving to become a better wife, mom, nana, friend and a better person overall. I have learned to step out of my comfort zone and start with new things that are more meaningful. Good reading is one of them. Being a woman of faith is my true goal. I have never learned a lot of biblical scriptures that I can quote. I know that with time and teachings I will make it. Not that I want to be a biblical scholar or theologian teacher. I would like to know more of the Jesus who died for me and my sins. I hope that I will one day walk the walk and talk the talk of a sinless life.
     Daily events are a big struggle for all of us. Especially when a guy cuts you off going down the rd in a car. My flesh pops up super quick in those times. I am having to learn to hold my evil tongue and do my best to overlook the wickedness and stupidity that others do around us. I want to be changed to handle tough situations in a kind loving manor. I have come from a unclean life and I wish to be cleaner. I want to be changed in my life and the way I live.
     All of my 31 day writings will not be on biblical areas. I just feel that this should be my first and to me it is the most important one. Thanks for following me and please keep reading.

WINTER GARDEN

Well, its time to rid the beautiful bounty of the summer garden and move on to the winter garden.

The beginnings of the garden mean plowing up the ground, planting the seeds, and trying to make it animal proof.

But for some reason even after the string fence something went in it during the night. Must be the deer!! 

QUILTING AGAIN

Not sure if I will be making Christmas quilts again. But I have gotten into a new quilt pattern. It is filling my time and it keeps me busy. I am hoping that one day all of my family members will have a quilt made by me. So far all three girls have one and so does my mom. I need to make those son in laws one and the grand babies!! Hopefully I will have them all one within 2-3 yrs. Here is the design I have so far. Not sure if I am going to outline each square with white or black strips. It is a simple 9 patch pattern. I am loving' it. Thanks for looking.

 

31 Days In October

Have you ever been challenged? Maybe by someone else or what about yourself? I never have challenged myself. I am going to give this s try. It is a challenge to blog about something for 31 days in October. The guideline that I am going to try to follow came from here. I personally follow this person and her blog. I purchased one of her books and have read it. It was very inspiring. 2014 (in) courage

I am about to embark into a new world with other women of faith. This new blog that I have just discovered is awesome. I am hoping that there are other women that will be willing to jump in with me. Reading the events from the past on this new blog is very interesting. The book club seems to be super great to. Read a chapter and then watch a video of other women and their reviews of the book. Sharing the word with each others is an awesome way to build relationships. I haven't read all there is about the meet ups but I would love to try to have a local meet up for all to come together and share more of the good news. Stay tuned here for more details. 3 Day Juicing

WOW what a day. I did juice lots of things today. Made up all my juices for today and tomorrow. I drank a Sunrise juice from Joe Cross and wow what a refreshing deal that was. Hubby was wondering if I was watching to much Twilight movies. The juice has beets, oranges, carrots. It is the prettiest wine color I have ever seen. Tasted actually great to!!  Then had coconut water for a mid day snack. For lunch it was Joe's Mean Green Juice. That was very good. Afternoon time had the remaining Sunrise juice. Then had to have some water so I had my 32oz of lemon water. Green Lemonade Juice was yummy. I had 2 grapefruits for a late snack before bed time. Hopefully day 2 will be good also.
 

Afternoon bloggers!! The Georgia temps are cold, wet and yucky to me today. Looks like the rains have moved out of the picture. Temperatures are dropping now to. Going to be cold tomorrow and party cloudy.... HUMPF... Looks like a great day inside with the coffee and tv. Wait no trying to cut back on the coffee. Planning on doing a juice diet for 3 days. January 6, 2014. Wanna join in? Come on over her to the Joe Cross Reboot and join in for 3 days of pure fresh juices. Great way to clean out the old system to. I haven't had coffee in 3 days. I must say I am having headaches. Coming off the caffeine I guess is what is causing that. So must drink water.  Hope everyone enjoyed the new year arriving. Not MIA anymore & Influenster Vox Box

Well going to start my posting again. I need to seriously. I have started some new crafts...IE QUILTING!!! Yeah didn't think I would like to play in material. But I made 4 quilts for my 3 girls and Mom this past Christmas. They were a success. I look forward to many more. Pictures below.

I also just watched a video by Noreen, from Noreen's Kitchen about this Vox Box... Very interesting thing. You basically sign up for a subscription for this to come in the mail and then you try out the samples and report back on them and blog about them. Tell your social media about them. Well after watching Noreen, I figured why not give it a try. So hopefully in the new year 2014. I will posting reports about this new Inluence Vox Box adventure.... More to come.

Morning Addiction

Do you have a morning addiction? Whether it is a simple mini doughnut or a cold coke. I belive we all have one. Mine is an addiction as well as a super day booster. I only have one a da, but I make it the best it can be. It's like new blood in my veins. Maybe it is a breath of fresh air. I am learning to take time to document the simple things in my life. I want to start the Project Life scrapbooking theory. But I haven't accomplished documenting my life yet... One day I will get better.

To Weave or Not To Weave???

Well I had one of those round Knit Quick looms. Can't find the darn thing anywhere. So I plunged into Michael's thi spast weekend with my 40% off coupon proudly in my hand. Headed straight torward the yarns and snagged that rectangle loom kit. Yeah that's right rectangle looms. You can make all sorts of things that are straight edged. pot holders, scarfs, lap blankets, or blankets. It is up to you on the size. Just like the round looms except they are rectangle. Well during this past Saturday football games I managed to suffer through the two games and achieve a completed scarf. I use one whole skein of yarn from wally world $2.33. And about 8 hrs later. VIOLA!!! Keep in mind I did do the laundry, take a bath, watch the game had lunch and dinner to...Oh yeah I bought a few groceries somewhere in the mix to. But it was very simple. My hands didn't cramp up like the crochet work. Any way I will have a warm neck for a while.

Although I thought it looked pretty neat. Hugh said it looked like I forgot how to paint my nails. And Kristin said it looked like a 3 yr old did it. lolol... So I had to result back to a grown woman look.

Gasp, Where have I been??

OMG, I have totally forgotten about this blog this week!! I actually got a new app for my Kindle Fire. It is creat. The App is Cozi. It is a journal, things to do list, grocery list, calendar. OMG I have been using that instead. Also been back to work after the much neede time off for ringing in the new year. Yeah I am probably on the same wagon as lots. Lose weight, shop smarter, coupon, be a better wife, mother and cook!!. Oh and somewhere in the mix I am bound and determined to find more ways to enjoy me time. I am always running around, creating, working, shopping, striving to do better for others. Not this year. I am going to start saying there is the freezer!!! You are big people to!!! HUMPH!! Now that the air is clear on that I am also going to be more "RESPECTIFUL" to, for and with others. I have learned to much by being hard and sharp with my family. Not this year 2012!!

Happy New Year and December Daily Update

Yeah I kinda sorta seriously crashed and burned.. I have some photos and I entend to finish this up. I forgot the camera for like 3 days. And not to mention, but I will what is exciting about...work, supper time, computer time, bath, bed...every day.. There are only so many times you want to scrapbook the dog...By me not having smaller children at home made this very hard.. We did have the grandkids on December 26 and 27.. I did take a picture each day there. Oh yeah I did get one of hubby sleeping with the dog on December 25.. Umm yeah this was very hard for me.. I wanted to attempt the 365 Project from Becky Higgins or Ali Edwards .. My have to just scrap what I can when I can.. Can't do that daily thing.. To me it then turns into a teenage like journal.. Oh wait that was Dear Diary!!
Looks like I am not cut out for the demanding document type thing. I document when I feel like it..
