What an awesome idea for any gift card occasion. Check this out!!
Tutorial for Gift Card Holders
I've had lots of requests for directions on how
to make the gift card holder that I posted a bit ago.
So here it is. These are quite simple to make.
First you start with a 11" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock.
You score it at 3" from both ends (the long way
Next you score half way between those two scored lines which is
about 2 1/2". I have the Score-it and I can visually see what is exactly
the middle by the measurements at the top. I like that option because
even though you think you have the correct measurements, they can still
be a bit off once you start scoring. Once you get your third line scored,
fold along your scored lines.
Put adhesive on as pictured. Be sure to stay close to the edge
because your gift card will go in this section. If you seal the whole
thing up, you won't be able to get your gift card in it!
This is what it will look like once you adhere it.
Use your large oval punch and punch only about1/3 to 1/2 of it.
This step is just so the recipient can grip their gift card to pull it out.
This step is just so the recipient can grip their gift card to pull it out.
Next cut of just a small amount on your cutter.
You are cutting the fold right off so you can insert your
gift card. I cut about 1/16" of an inch off.
Here you are! You have the basics done. Now all you have
to do is the fun part. Embelish and decorate it any way that
you want. I like to make a belly band around it. I cut about
an inch of cardstock and wrap it around the whole gift card
holder and cut off any excess. You can stamp it, tie ribbon
around it, or anything you want to create a fun gift!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Momma. Happy Birthday to you.
Had to make my Mom a sweet card for her birthday. Very simple card... I used a great Punch Out Paper kit from Walmart. Love the bright bold colors. Stamped a great sentiment from Stampin Up called Lots of Thoughts. I used Stampin Up ink colors More Mustard, Brilliant Blue. The flower image is Big Flowers from Stampin Up, also added white brads. Popped them up with foam squares. I used the scallop punch to punch out the sentiment. Added a piece of white ribbon, and glued it all together with the ATG tape gun. Hope she likes it to.

Valentines For Kids
A local radio station http://www.j933.com/Article.asp?id=1643379 is hosting a great event for kids. Copied from the web page.
It's that time of year again. With the new year, comes Valentine's for Kids. You can be a part of it by making handmade Valentine's cards for children at Christian City, Georgia Baptist Children's Homes, and other children's homes around the area.
We will list drop-off locations soon, but for now, get your school, church, or civic groups to work making cards that show these kids the love of Christ. We will hand each child a bag full of your cards on Saturday, February 13 at our Valentine's for Kids Party.
A Few Guidelines For Your Cards
Cards should be gender neutral.
Messages should be positive and loving.
They should be completely handmade.
We as crafters can so get involved to. Making some Valentine Cards for them. I am working on mine now. I think I will make about 50. They are really cute to. I am using a textured 3x3 cardstock. Stamped images Love2Hug set and Joy2Christmas set from The Stamps of Life Stephanie has the perfect set for this event to. I am using the Stampin Up Scallop punch, pop dots, white gel pen and Stampin Up Passion Pink ink. Red cardstock is from Michaels Recollections brand paper. Simply just stamped the heart image cut it out and mounted on scallop punch with pop dots. Then mount on 3x3 base card. Stamp happy day and ink edges. Add dots to scallop punch. Turn base card over and stamp hearts and to and from. Then your all done. Great quick gift for any kid.

Desk Calendar
I am really loving how much you can do with calendars. And to must be because it is the first of the new year. For this project I used thin chipboard cut with the Stampin Up Top Note Die. After cutting chipboard I cut some paper. Glued the paper to the chipboard and the punched the holes for the rings wit the Crop A Dile. I inked the edges of the cut calendarand then mounted the calendar to Stampin Up cardstock. Then mounted that to the decorated chipboard. Added some bling. Then stamped the really cute butterflies from Close To My Heart in a variety of colors and cut them out and added them. Then tied a variety of ribbons to the rings. The calendar will stand up on its own. When you get ready for a new month just un-clip the ring and flip the calendar over. Then your ready for the next month.
